Retotalling revaluation for TN 12th standard (+2)

Students who had got their results few days back can opt for revaluation or retotalling of their marks if they are not satisfied with the marks obtained by them.

How to apply for these retotalling and revaluation and photocopies?

The applications will be issued from 18 May to 21 May, 2009 at the office of Director of Government Examinations, Chief Education Office, District Education Office and Regional Directorate of Government Examination Office.

The students can choose to do the following:

a) Either opt for retotalling only or
b) Opt for photocopy and later apply for revaluation or retotalling within 5 days of receipt of photocopy of answer papers



Steps to apply for photocopy, re totalling and revaluation of answer scripts

1) Take a DD from a nationalised bank in favour of ‘Director of Government Examinations, Chennai - 6’.

2) Submit it in person and collect the application forms from 18th to 21st May , 2009 in the following centres all over Tamil Nadu

 Office of Director of Government Examinations, Chennai
 Chief Education Offices,
 District Education Offices and
 Regional Directorate of Government Examination Offices in TN.

3) Apply for retotalling or revaluation of answer scripts by selecting the appropriate option and desired subjects with subject code for which re totaling or photo copies are needed.

For what subjects retotalling can be applied?

Students can apply for retotalling for all subjects.

Cost for Retotalling
 For Tamil, English and Biology, the cost is Rs 305 and for other subjects is Rs 205.

Photo copies and Revaluation

Who can apply for revaluation?

Only Students who had opted for photocopies can apply for revaluation. Students can apply for a photocopy for their answer scripts only in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology, Botany and Computer Science by paying Rs 275 per subject through a demand draft from a nationalised bank drawn in favour of Director of Government Examinations, Chennai 6.

For Tamil and English subjects,only retotalling is allowed. No photocopies can be taken.

What is the cost for Photocopy and revaluation?

Cost for photocopies are Rs.275/-per paper and you can opt to retotal or revaluation after the receipt of photocopies.

Cost for revaluation Rs.505/- per paper and retotalling :Rs. 305/- for biology ,Tamil and English and Rs.205/- for other subjects.


Please also note the subject code number you wish to apply for revaluation and retotalling as you would have to write the subject code in the application.

    kindly inform the check list to be submitted along with the revaluation form. it is understood that the cost of appl. is rs.275 through DD before 21st of may 2009

    No documents are needed to be submitted along with the application form. Filling the form and submitting it along with the D.D is enough.There is no separate fees for application form

    Can I apply for both Re-totalling and xerox paper now itself together. Though option is available after getting the xerox, it would take time. So is it is possible to apply for re-totalling and xerox by paying appropriate fees. Later, after getting xerox, can I go for Revaluation ?

    As far as I know, the revaluation results wont be publicly announced for all in a particular date.You'll get a letter to your home if there is any change in your marks.It might take upto 3-4 weeks for the results.

    Once we go for evaluation and if there is a change in marks. Say it has changes from 189 to 198 in physics and from 189 to 195 in Chemistry. How to move further. As we have allready submitted the Engineering application and may be would have submitted Medical application.

    @Ravi Kumar: you must calculate the new cutoff and you can take part in counseling directly as per the new cutoff date of counseling.The authorities will do a check on the new marks and allow for counseling.

    We have applied for Xerox copies for Physics and Chemistry on 18/5/2009. When shall we get probably the xerox copies. Only after then we can go for Re-evaluation.

    In Retotalling, the marks which have been awarded will be only retotalled. In order to evaluate a answer revaluation is necessary. Apply for revaluation only if you are sure that you wont lose any more marks as the paper will be evaluated from first question
